The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall.

Members present: Lee Ellis Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg.

Ellis called the meeting to order.

Others present: Garrick Moritz and Kara Duncan.

Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen to add mowing bids, Second by; Benson.

ROUTINE BUSINESS: Minutes of the February 2, 2015 meeting was approved as read. Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Xcel Energy, street light $274.47 park light $18.95 town hall lights; $57.86; Minnehaha Community Water, Feb. water $30.00; Lucas Swenson, 7 hrs plowing $84.00; Garretson Gazette, Dec. min. $7.45 notice of vacancy $11.32 Jan min. $28.90; Palisades Propane, 174.5 gal of propane $156.88; MCEDA, 2016 dues $200.00; SDML, insurance $568.00;

OLD BUSINESS:

Board of Equalization meeting, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

No Petition was submitted.

Playground Equipment Sherman, SD www.gofundme.com on facebook. Antique tractor run date is set for Aug. 13^th, 2016 planning on starting at Schuneman Equipment and we will have a BBQ lunch at the Town Hall on that day. We are looking for auction items, please call if you would like to donate. (605-594-3757) we have a drawing following the Porker Run July 30^th at The Bullet $500.00 1^st and $250.00 2^nd, ticket are 1 for $10.00 or 3 for $20.00. Next meeting set for March 20, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bullet. Gerry Karpen is working on Project grant applications. ‏

Motion by; Ellis to put in a motor in the road grader from John’s Repair Second by; Benson, Berg asked for vote 3 yes 0 no motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:

The 2015 Annual Report was presented to the Board by Berg, Karpen, made a motion to approve the 2015 Annual Report Second by; Benson, Berg asked for vote 3 yes 0 no motion carried.

Bids for mowing are now being accepted.

The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.
