The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, November 7, 2017. 

Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg.

Others present: Linda & Bob Askren.  

Ellis called the meeting to order.

Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson. 

ROUTINE BUSINESS: Minutes of the October 3, 2017 meeting was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

Minutes of the September19, 2017 meeting was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.   

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Xcel Energy, street light, $671.49, park light $18.54, town hall lights $33.81; Minnehaha Community Water, Oct. water $36.50; Garretson Gazette, Sept. Min. $25.55, special sessions meeting $7.61, Amendment 2017 $92.40, 2018 Ordinance 2017-1 $92.40; SDML, insurance $515.00; VanDyke Sanitation, parks garbage $24.00; GFC, food, grand opening $293.40; Jesse James, 12.2 gal of gas $31.65, 12.2 $30.11; Darrin Trower, 1x mowing $40.00; Bill Benson, 2x mowing $80.00: Robin Berg, 2x mowing $60.00;

OLD BUSINESS:  110 Zeliff. Ave. Karpen updated the group on the steps being taken to deal with the crumbling structure in town. A letter was sent to the owners laying out some options for them. There has been no response.

NEW BUSINESS:  Animal control, Motion by; Ellis, Second by; Karpen to mail out letters to residents with animal in City limits. On Sherman’s Ordinances.   With a vote of 3 yes, motion carried.

Sherman Christmas Party Dec. 30th, from 1p.m. to 3p.m.

Bullet Alcoholic Beverage License date set for Dec. 12th at 8:00 p.m. at Sherman Town Hall.
