The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall.

Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg. Ellis called the meeting to order.

Others present: Sandee Sutton, Kara Duncan, Margaret Pritchard, Darrin & Kristy Trower, Bob & Linda Askren.

Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson.

ROUTINE BUSINESS:

Minutes of the September 6, 2016 meeting, with corrections to September minutes, Annual budget Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson for the Second reading of the Ordinance 2016-1for 2017 annual budget. (With a vote of 2 yes motion carried) was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Xcel Energy, street light $269.07 park light $38.07 town hall lights; $18.07; Minnehaha Community Water, Sep. water $30.00 Bill Benson, 2x mowing $80.00, hydrlic oil $26.61; Clay Bonte, 3x mowing $105.00; Darrin Trower,3x mowing $120.00; Robin Berg, 3x mowing $90.00; SDPAA, insurance $2,612.87; Cheryl Swenson, 2 ink stamps $17.40;

OLD BUSINESS:

Added to the Agenda, Karpen will go over the priorities from Risk Mitigation Insurance with Ellis and the target dates to be completed, after the meeting.

Concern about chickens was discussed.

Sherman picnic turn out had 20-30 people attended.

NEW BUSINESS:

Plan to place a sign at the tree dump site, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

110 Zeliff Ave. nuisance abatement, structural engineer to inspect.

Parking in alleys or blocking alleys was discussed.

Halloween candy hand out at Sherman Town Hall is cancelled this year
