The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall.

Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg.

Ellis called the meeting to order.

Others present: Garrick Moritz, Leif Moritz, Ellen Karpen, Sandra Sutton, and Kara Duncan.

Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

ROUTINE BUSINESS: Minutes of the September 1, 2015 meeting was approved as read. Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson

Reading of the Special Session, September 21, 2015 meeting was approved as read.

The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.  

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Anderson Publications, Sealed bids ( jail) from last meeting, correction $48.00; Xcel Energy, street light $266.13 park light $28.27 town hall lights; $18.; Minnehaha Community Water, Sep. water $30.00; Anderson Publications, July min. $24.43, sealed bids ad x2 $48.00, Aug. min. $24.43; Bill Benson, 2x mowing $80.00; Robin Berg, 2x mowing $60.00; Clay Bonte, 1x mowing $30.00; Jonah Swenson, 5x mowing $175.00; Jesse James, 15.4 gals of gas $38.57; Gerry Karpen, flowers (from January) $55.02; Judy Ellis, flowers $48.75;

 

OLD BUSINESS:

New playground Equipment, Berg will go around talking with residents to set up a meeting for the park comity, Ellis is planning a porker run, going too five parks to raise money.

Bullet address (Should be 125 Zeliff Ave.) Karpen received an email back from 911, the address is fine as is.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Benson asked if we have a Ordinances on Chickens, Swenson looked up the ordinances’ and stated resident need to get permission from the Town Board,  two residents ask for chickens, the board gave permission to have chicken at their residents.

Benson asked about building permits, Karpen stated he has one from the Berg’s and is working on the other residents.  Karpen is the acting Zoning Administrator at this time. Sherman is still in need of a Zoning Administrator.  

Benson would like the board to pay for his flat tires on his tracker when his is working trees, Karpen stated to summit the bill.

Motion by; Ellis too bye carbon monoxide and smoke alarm for the resident’s in Sherman. Second by; Karpen with a vote of 3 yes.

Added to the Agenda; Duncan ask to give resident in the town a reminder it is up to property owns to trim their trees. 

Motion by; Karpen to adjourn, second by Benson, 

The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
