The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall.

Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg

Others present: Tom Godbey and Ellen Karpen.

Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

 

ROUTINE BUSINESS: 

Minutes of the June 2, 2015, meeting were approved as read. Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson

The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.  

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Xcel Energy, street light $295.16; park light $19.14 town hall lights; $33.69; Minnehaha Community Water, June water $30.00; Anderson Publications, May min. $21.85;Boltes Sunrise Sanitary, 3 dumpsters $851.43; Gerr Karpen, under paid 1 meeting $25.00; Bill Beson under paid 1 meeting $25.00; Colton Saw Mill, bridge timbers $393.12; Cheryl Swenson, stamps $49.00; Grant Duncan, hydrlic fluid for grader $69.79; Bill Benson, 3x mowing $120.00; Robin Berg, 5x mowing $150.00; Jonah Swenson, 4x mowing $140.00; Clay Bonte, 3x mowing $90.00;

 

OLD BUSINESS:

Sherman Jail, after some discussion; a Motion was made by; Ellis, to declare the Sherman Jail as excess property available for sale, Second by; Karpen. Sherman Town Board will be accepting closed/sealed bids at the next Town Board Meeting August 4, 2015 for the Sherman Town Jail, The Sherman Town Board retains the right to reject any and all bids if they feel the bids are not satisfactory or if they believe an agreement has been entered into to prevent competition. (SDCL 5-18A-5 (7) ) Please bring bids to the meeting or mail to Att. Town Board 160 Zeliff Ave, Sherman S.D. 57030 Vote of 3 ayes, motion carried.

Ellis will work on getting roads sprayed for weeds and grass.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Revenue and Expenditures for July 2014 to June 2015 was presented to the Board.

Ellis asked Sherman to donate $100.00 to Garretson Food Pantry Motion by; Benson, Second by; Karpen

Ford water truck need repairs Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.  

Luke Bonte mowing bid was $30.00 not $25.00.

Motion by; Karpen to adjourn, second by Benson, 

The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
