FEBRUARY 1, 2011

The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, February 01, 2011, 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall with President Kara Duncan presiding.

Members present: Robin Berg, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson, and Danessa Keener.

Others present: Gerry and Ellen Karpen

ROUTINE BUSINESS

The Agenda was approved.

Minutes of the January 2011 meeting were read, with the amendment made to make a public record of names of appointed treasure, clerk, town attorney, and newspaper. Motion by Berg, second my Duncan.

The treasurer’s report was read and approved.

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID

Xcel Energy, 256.89 for lights; Schuneman Equipment, 12.06 for parts; Minnehaha Community Water, 25.00 for water; Gerry Karpen, 108.00 for 9 hours of snow plowing; Kevin Swenson, 12.00 for 1 hour of plowing; SDML, 561.00 for renewal; Anderson Publication, 21.46 for January minutes; Brian Berg, 49.50 for 5 ½ hours of snow removal; Robin Berg, 31.00 for Pre-disaster mileage.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Public record of names of appointed town clerk: Danessa Keener, treasurer: Cheryl Swenson, newspaper: Garretson Gazette, and town attorney: Dean Hammer

2. Robin will collect missing zoning fee.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Election petitions guidelines: a petition for Sherman requires at least ten signatures and must be filed with town clerk no later then 5:00 pm on the last Friday in February.

2. Letter was presented about adding a one cent sales tax for infrastructure projects and was rejected.

3. Board of Adjustment meeting was set for Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7:00 pm.

Motion by Berg to adjourn, second by Benson

The next regular meeting will be March 1, 2011, 7:30 pm
