Objections to real property assessment:

      ID 024182

      Legal description:  Lots 13 & S 1/2 Lot 14, Block 8, Sherman Original Subdivision

Owner:  Dean M. and Jean E. Wilson

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to change the assessor’s value from $6,573 to $21,000.  Motion carried for the following reason:  Assessed value was lowered in 2007 and was valid for one year.

      ID 024167

Legal description:  Lot 9, Block 6, Sherman Original Subdivision

Owner:  Donald J. and Janice L. Johnson

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to change the assessor’s value from $2,044 to $1,022.  Motion carried for the following reason:  $2,044 is the value for a two lot parcel.  This is one lot and therefore should be assessed at $1,022.

      ID 024150

Legal description:  Lot 14, Block 2, Sherman Original Subdivision

      Owner:  Luke and Deidra Bonte

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to change the assessor’s value from $78,540 to $48,022.  Motion carried for the following reason:  $78,540 is excessive for Sherman which has gravel roads and no sewer system.  $48,022 is in line with comparable properties.

      ID 024149

Legal description:  Lot 13, Block 2, Sherman Original Subdivision

      Owner:  Luke and Deidra Bonte

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to deny changing the assessor’s value of $1,022.

Motion carried for the following reason:  $1,022 is standard for one lot.

      ID 024160

Legal description:  Lots 8 to 10, Block 5, Sherman Original Subdivision ( 125 Packard Ave )

Owner:  Larry D. and SandraLee Sutton

Motion by Berg, second by DeWitt, to change the assessor’s value from $63,864 to $54,954.

Motion carried for the following reason:  $54,954 is in line with comparable properties and the home has considerable termite damage.

      ID 024183

Legal description:  Lots N 1/2 Lot 14 and Lots 15 to 17, Block 8, Sherman Original Subdivision

      Owner:  Brian Berg

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to change the assessor’s value from $4,151 to $3,435.  Motion carried for the following reason:  Assessed value assumes a four lot parcel.  This is three and one-half lots.  Structure on property is not permanent.

      ID 024194

Legal description:  Lots 5 to 7, Block 10, Sherman Original Subdivision

      Owner:  Berg

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to change the assessor’s value from $2,440 to $1,554.  Motion carried for the following reason:  Land floods routinely and is not useable.

      ID 024181

Legal description:  Lots 11 and 12, Block 8, Sherman Original Subdivision

      Owner:  Brian Berg

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to deny changing the assessor’s value of $1,528.

Motion carried for the following reason:  $1,528 is standard for one and one-half lots.  Although the legal description is two lots, the parcel size is actually one and one-half lots.

      ID 024177

Legal description:  Lots 8 to 10, Block 7, Sherman Original Subdivision

Owner:  Brian Berg and Robin Ramsey

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to change the assessor’s value from $82,254 to $52,954.  Motion carried for the following reason:  $82,254 is excessive for Sherman which has gravel roads and no sewer system.  $52,954 is in line with comparable properties.

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to accept the 2008 property assessment role as equalized.

Motion by Sutton, second by DeWitt, to adjourn as a board of equalization.

Date:  March 18, 2008
