November 6, 2007

The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, November 6, 2007, 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall with President Robin Berg presiding. 

      Members present:  Robin Berg, Gerry Karpen, Sandee Sutton, Cheryl Swenson and Ann Thiel.

      Others present:  Neil Winterton, Bill Benson.

ROUTINE BUSINESS   

The Agenda was approved.

Minutes of the October 9, 2007, meeting were approved as read.

The treasurer’s report was read and approved.

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID

Minnehaha Community Water Corp., water, $22.50; Argus Leader Media, October meeting minutes, Appropriation Ordinance, Resolution, $142.63; Xcel Energy, electricity, $214.12; Virgil Inglett, 2 times mowing, board for merry-go-round, labor, $77.19; Brian Berg, 2 times mowing, $50.00; Neil Winterton, 2 times mowing, $40.00; Robin Berg, materials for park, $109.76; Bill Benson, 8 hours mowing, parts and labor for snow plow, $132.00; SDML Work Comp Fund, workers comp insurance, $553.00;  Palisades Propane, propane, 590.55; Overson Heating, 2 heaters for town hall, $2,184.61.  ($1100 reimbursed by Fire Department.)

OLD BUSINESS

1.       Street work tabled to next meeting.

2.       The Board has been contacted by someone interested in being Sherman ’s Fire Chief. Discussion will continue regarding the Fire Department.  Swenson will look into the First Responder program.

3.       Thiel reported that the playground equipment is not insured for property damage.   

NEW BUSINESS

      6.   A hearing for the purpose of approving The Bullet’s Alcoholic Beverage License will be held on December 4 at 8 p.m.. 

7.       A tentative date for the Sherman Christmas Party is December 15 at 1 p.m. 

Motion by Sutton to adjourn, second by Karpen.

The next regular meeting will be December 4, 2007, at 7:30 p.m.
